Spindle bearings are permanently lubricated precision class P4. The spindle’s suitable span, heavy cast structure and gear-free design eliminate vibration and meet the high rigidity and high precision.
The 8-position tool turret features high precision curvic coupling with powerful hydraulic clamping for heavy cutting. The high turret indexing rate is made possible by a non-stop random indexing system, allowing quick tool change over, high positioning speed and a reduction in non-cutting time. Tool change time takes as little as 0.3 second.
X and Z slideways use high rigidity linear guide ways from THK and incorporate high precision ballscrews to ensure rapid feed and high precision performance. THK’s heavy load linear guide way has low friction resistance and low thermal deformation at rapid feeds to help maintain optimum cutting capability over long periods. The ballscrews are preloaded to eliminate backlash. A central lubrication system automatically delivers oil to the axes. With all these features, it is no surprise that YH15 reduces non-cutting time to a minimum.
The one-piece, Meehanite casting base has been proven to have significant advantages for precision turning. The uniformly dense, fine grained castings distribute stress and heat throughout the machine’s entire structure.
