Gang-tool lathes are simply more accurate than turret based lathes. 
The GT mini is an incredibly compact gang-tool lathe that’s also fast and accurate. With a footprint of 48” x 40”, the GT mini easily fits on your shop floor.  But don’t let its size fool you. 

The GT mini, like the GTV, is built from a rigid Meehanite casting base allowing to hold a tolerance of 0.0001”.  The Mini also comes standard with a powerful 6000 RPM spindle motor and the machines slides have 712 inches per minute rapids.

GT mini is a small lathe ideal both for working on bar stock fed through a bar feeder or 2nd operations loaded by an operator into a chuck.

The parts catcher show near the end of the video is standard equipment. It doesn’t cost extra.
